Censorship.

Funny story.
I have a friend who attends U of A and is a huge razorback fan. He posted on his Facebook page that the razorbacks were in Sports Illustrated. He was in the photo of fanatic fans cheering for the Hogs. So, naturally, I clicked on the link to the photo on the SI site.

If you can access this link, you are not on the CBC network. Unfortunately, CBC has blocked this website due to what it feels is inappropriate material related to "lingerie/binkni" images.

While I understand the standards put forward by the school, and its efforts to nurture godly men and wormen, I also feel that, by providing students with the opportunities to make good choices, they will continue to grow.

I realize CBC has the right to block websites, especially since it is a private college, without it being considered censorship. However, we are adults. By blocking access to websites such as sports illustrated, they make the statement that we are not old or wise enough to understand what is beneficial for us to look at. In this case, maybe they should block facebook during school hours and after midnight to ensure we complete our homework and go to bed at a decent hour.
